The West Creek Conservancy has asked us to help upgrade a lot on the west flank of West Creek, adjoining a residential area. Improvements to this lot are being funded by a grant from NEOCHMM and a matching grant from the AHMPCHMMunity grant ® program. We also received a donation from Erik Shamberger, CHMM and a matching grant from his employer, Sherwin-Williams. This will pay for the trees, landscaping and seeding materials. Also, the “grassroots” funding helps the WCC to seek larger grants from private institutional and governmental organizations, as these organizations first look to see if WCC has a viable funding and implementation program for smaller projects.
