We are forwarding this information from NEOCHMM colleague Ray Davis:
The Dangerous Goods Trainers Association (DGTA) received a Hazardous Material Instructor Training (HMIT) grant award to conduct ten 4-day Hazardous Material Instructor Training courses in 2016. These training classes are TUITION FREE to attendees that meet our target audience goals and can pass DGTA’s on-line Pre-requisite Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) Exam. Next local offering is June 6-9, 2016, 8am to 5pm each day at The Club at Key Center (4th floor of the Marriott Hotel), 127 Public Square, Cleveland, OH 44114.
This is "Train the Trainer" training. It counts towards recertification points for IHMM and ASSE. More importantly, it may assist you when sitting for the Certified Dangerous Good Professional ("DGTP") and more importantly, the Certified Dangerous Goods Trainer ("CDGT") exams offered independently thru IHMM. This is the end of the training cycle and the grant will probably not be renewed under this format. This type of training can nominally have fees ranging into the thousands of dollars. The Course Curriculum and links to registration are in the attached PDF. For more info, contact Ray Davis at 216-276-3182 or This email address is being protected from spambots.
